UPDATED — Monday night wreck in Roxie claims man's life

A Louisiana man was killed Monday night in a fatal accident in Roxie.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, at approximately 7:20 p.m. Monday, troopers responded to a crash on Highway 84.

A 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 80-year-old Elmer Wallace, Jr. and carrying passenger Brenda Wallace, 79, both of Vidalia, La., were traveling west on Highway 84 W when their vehicle collided with a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 36-year-old Joshua Slayton of Gonzales, La., which was traveling north of Highway 33 and was crossing Highway 84W.

Elmer Wallace, Jr., received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Brenda Wallace and Joshua Slayton were transported to a local hospital with injuries received from the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol
